SRF at NIPGR


Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of (1) Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the DBT funded Ramalingaswami Fellowship Scheme entitled “Identification and functional characterization of genes imparting multi-stress tolerance in Nicotianabenthamiana and Arabidopsis” and (2) Research Associate (RA) in NIPGR ‘Short Term Research Fellowships/Post–Doctorate Fellowships’ programme, under the supervision of Dr. Senthil Kumar Muthappa, Scientist-III, NIPGR.
(1)  Research Associate (one post) in NIPGR ‘Short Term Research Fellowships/Post –Doctorate Fellowships’
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates having a Ph.D. degree in discipline of Life Sciences (including Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Physiology/Plant Pathology/Plant Breeding and Genetics) with strong publication record can apply.  Candidates having prior post-doctoral work experience in plant disease resistance related projects using model plants are encouraged to apply.
The position is purely on temporary basis with maximum duration of three years. The Fellowship amount for the position will be given at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST. 
(2) Senior Research Fellow (one post) in the DBT funded Ramalingaswami Fellowship Scheme entitled “Identification and functional characterization of genes imparting multi-stress tolerance in Nicotianabenthamiana and Arabidopsis”
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with at least 60% (/equivalent) marks in master degree and a minimum of two years of Post M.Sc./M.Tech. research experience can apply.  Prior work experience in abiotic stress related research in Arabidopsis and handling plant pathogens is desirable. 
The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Emoluments will be as per project sanction & DBT/DST norms.
The initial appointment in respect of above posts will be for one year, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
