Applications are invited on prescribed format for the following assignment in a purely time bound research project to carry out research work, experiments & analysis in the Department of Life Science of the Institute.

1. Name of the Temporary Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

2. Name of the Research Project : “Structural impact of SNPs on miRNA-mediated regulation and its implication in cancer”

3. Name of the Sponsoring Agency : DBT, Govt. of India

4 Tenure of the Project : 03 Years

5 Tenure of the Assignment : 03 Years (based on the performance) OR completion of the project, whichever is earlier

6 Job Description : To carry out research work & experiments related to the project and to continue/register for Ph.D. on the topic of this project

7. Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship : Rs.16,000/- (1st two years) & Rs. 18,000/- (3rd year) (Depending on the position, qualification & experience)

8. Essential Qualifications and experience: M.Sc. in Computer Science/ MCA/ M.Sc. in Bioinformatics or any other branch of biological sciences with minimum 60% of marks or 6.5 CGPA in 10 point scale

Candidates with valid GATE or NET of CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT / (Lectureship/JRF) will be given preference.

9. Desirable Qualifications/Experiences: Programming skills in any of the languages (Perl/Java/C/C++) is preferred. Prior knowledge of bioinformatic tools, biological soft computing & modelling, microarray data analysis, NGS & parsing data from biological databases is a plus.

10. Accommodation: Bachelor accommodation in the hostel will be provided and Campus accommodation may be provided to married students subject to availability.
