Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the posts of Senior Research Fellow under various sub-projects of the project entitled ‘Intensification of Research on Enhancing Productivity’. The details are given below:

1. Collection Conservation and Molecular Characterization of Rice Germplasm

P17 Senior Research Fellow 1

M.Sc Agri. (Biotechnology/Plant Breeding) or M.Sc (Biotechnology)

2. Establishment of Heat Tolerance Screening Nursery

P18 Senior Research Fellow 1

M.Sc Agri. (Plant Breeding/Plant Physiology) or M.Sc (Botany).

3. Strengthening Research on Hybrid Rice

P19 Senior Research Fellow 1

M.Sc Agri. (Plant Breeding) or M.Sc (Botany).

4. Development of Strategies for Management of Bacterial Blight and False Smut Disease of Rice in Kerala

P20 Senior Research Fellow 2

M.Sc Agri. (Plant Pathology) or M.Sc (Microbiology) with B.Sc (Microbiology).

5. Development and Validation of Non Conventional Nutrient Management Technologies in Rice

P21 Senior Research Fellow 1

M.Sc Agri. (Soil Science/Plant Physiology/ Agronomy) or M.Sc (Chemistry/ Biochemistry).

6. Development of Insect Pheromones for Management of Major Rice Pests

P22 Senior Research Fellow 1

M.Sc Agri. (Entomology) or M.Sc (Zoology) with specialization in Entomology.

Terms & Conditions:

1. The appointment will be purely provisional up to 31.03.2015 or till the end of the project whichever is earlier and the candidates will have no right in the University other than to receive the monthly consolidated salary attached to the post.
2. The salary for the post of Senior Research Fellow is fixed as `.16000/- (Rupees. Sixteen thousand only) per month for 1st and 2nd years of the project and as `.18000/- (Rupees. Eighteen thousand only) per month during the 3rd year.
3. Age of the applicant should not be above 36 years as on 01.06.2013. Age relaxation as per existing Government Rules will be granted to eligible candidates.
4. Applications should be sent in the prescribed fillable format appended as Annexure – I, by email to rarsptb@kau.in so as to reach this station on or before 25.07.2013. Scanned copies of certificates need not be sent along with the application. However, originals of the following documents should be produced for verification at the time of interview:

(a) Signed copy of the application already emailed
(b) Secondary School Leaving Certificate with mark list
(c) Higher Secondary Certificate with mark list
(d) Degree Original/Provisional Certificate and mark list
(e) Post Graduation Original/Provisional Certificate with mark list
(f) Certificate, if any, proving experience in research field
5. Candidates applying for more than one post should send separate applications for each post.
6. If it is found necessary, written test will be conducted before the interview.
7. The date of written test/interview will be published in the University website, www.kau.edu. No other intimation regarding the interview will be given to the candidates. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to regularly watch the website for information regarding the interview.
