Walk-in interview will be held on dates indicated below at the NRCPB; New Delhi at 10:30 AM for filling Research Associate and Senior Research Fellow position as mentioned below. The positions are temporary and are initially offered for a period of one year. Details such as emoluments, qualifications, application format etc., are given on our web site http://www.nrcpb.org/. I. Project: “Bioprospecting of genes and allele mining for abiotic stress tolerance” PI: Dr. N. K. Singh
Position: Office Assistant
Emoluments: Rs 10,000/- for Master’s degree holders.
Qualifications:
Essential:- Master’s degree in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/Life Sciences with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average
Age limit: Maximum 30 years for men and 35 years for women as on the date of interview (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules).
II. Project: “Generation, characterization and use of EMS induced mutants of upland variety Nagina-22 for function genomics in rice”.
PI: Dr. N. K. Singh
Position: Senior Research Fellow (1)
Emoluments: 12,000/14,000+HRA (for Non NET qualified) or 16,000/18,000+HRA (for NET Qualified).
Essential:- Master’s degree in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/Life Sciences with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with at least two years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associate ship /Training/ other engagements.
Desirable: - Research experience with rice and molecular techniques.
Age limit: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on the date of interview. (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules)
III. Project: Molecular and genetic analyses of guggul for the identification of genes governing adventive embryony. Funded by ICAR National Fund for Basic, Strategic & Frontier Application Research in Agriculture (up to 31-3-2017).
PI: Dr. S. R. Bhat
Position: Research Associate (One)
Emoluments: Rs 24,000/- + HRA for Ph.D. holders and Rs. 23,000+ HRA for Master’s degree holders.
Educational Qualifications:
Essential– First Class Master’s degree in Agriculture, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Genetics, Life Sciences, M.Tech. (Biotech), M.C.A. /M.S. (IT/Cs) with at least two years research experience in gene cloning, high throughput DNA/RNA sequencing, bioinformatics and data analysis.
Desirable - Ph.D., research publications in relevant area.

IV. Project: Development of haploid-inducer lines of Brassica juncea through genetic engineering of centromere histone protein.
Funded Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India (up to 31-3-2016).
PI: Dr. S. R. Bhat
Position: Research Associate (One)
Emoluments: Rs. 24000 + HRA.
Qualifications:
Essential-First class Master’s degree plus Ph. D. in Agriculture, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Sciences, Botany, Genetics, or Life Sciences, with research experience in gene and promoter isolation, cloning, construction of plant transformation vectors, molecular analysis of transgenics.
Desirable: Cytological and histological study of plant samples, confocal microscopy.
Age limit: Maximum 40 years for men and 45 years for women as on the date of
interview (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules).
Position: Junior/Senior Research Fellow (One)
Emoluments: a) Rs. 12000-14000 + HRA (PG degree in basic sciences plus NET qualification for lectureship); b) Rs. 16000-18000 + HRA (PG degree in basic sciences plus NET qualification), or c) Rs. 18000-20000 + HRA (PG degree in Professional courses).
Qualifications: Essential- First class Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Sciences, Botany, Genetics, Life Sciences, Agriculture. NET qualification for those with PG degree in basic sciences.
Desirable: Research experience in gene isolation/cloning, construction of plant transformation vectors, plant transformation.
Age limit: Maximum 40 years for men and 45 years for women as on the date of interview (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules).
V. Project: “Modeling Network of gene response to abiotic stress in rice”
PI: Dr. Kishor Gaikwad
Position: Research Associate (One)
Emoluments: Rs 24,000/- + HRA for Ph.D. holders and Rs. 23,000+ HRA for Master’s degree holders.
Qualifications:
Essential- First class Master’s degree plus Ph. D. in Agriculture, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Sciences, Botany, Genetics, Life Sciences (with two year work experience in Bioinformatics/Genomics), M.C.A., M.Tech Bioinformatics and Computer Science with two year experience in genome data analysis.
Desirable: Research experience in use of Computational methods in genomics.
Age limit: Maximum 40 years for men and 45 years for women as on the date of interview (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules).
General Terms & Conditions applicable to all the positions:
 The positions are purely temporary, on a contractual basis and are initially offered for one year.
 The period and duration of the scheme is tentative and the same may change.
 The person employed will have no right to claim employment or engagement in ICAR at the end of the contract period.
 No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the interview.
 Persons already in employment should bring “No Objection Certificate” from their present employer.
 The candidates who wish to attend the walk-in interview are requested to bring with them five copies of the CV as per the format given below. Also, the candidates should bring the original documents such as degree certificates, marks sheets, publications, thesis, experience certificate etc. for verification.
 The decision of the Project Director of this Institute will be final and binding in all aspects.
