WALK IN TEST / INTERVIEW

Online applications are invited for the selection of one Research Associate & two Senior Research Fellows under the time bound project “Distributed Information Sub centre - DISC” and “Phytophthora, Fusarium and Ralstonia Diseases of Horticultural and Field Crops (PhytoFuRa) as per the details indicated below:

Name of the Project : “Distributed Information Sub Centre – DISC”

Name of the post : Research Associate (Bioinformatics)

Qualifications :

a) Essential: Doctorate degree in Bioinformatics or in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Biochemistry with expertise in Bioinformatics as evidenced by  publications.Or M.Tech in Bioinformatics with three year experience in research or teaching or BINC qualifying.

b) Desirable: One year research experience in NGS data analysis or computer programming using Python/Perl/Java in a reputed institution.

Fellowship : Rs.22,000/-p.m (Consolidated)+ 20 %HRA (for M.Tech degree holders) and Rs. 24,000 + 20 % HRA (for Ph.D degree holders)

Upper age limit : 40 years for Men & 45 years for Women as on date of Interview (Upper Age limits are relaxable for SC, ST and OBC candidates as per Govt. of India norms (at present 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC)

Duration : Up to 31st March 2014 or till the completion of the project

Name of the Project : Phytophthora, Fusarium and Ralstonia Diseases of Horticultural and Field Crops (PhytoFuRa)

Name of the post : Senior Research Fellow (Bioinformatics)

Qualifications :

a) Essential: Post Graduate degree in Bioinformatics

Or

B.Tech in Bioinformatics

Desirable: One year experience in NGS data analysis or cheminformatics in a reputed institution.

Fellowship : Rs.16,000/- p.m. +20% HRA (for first two years)

Rs.18,000/- + 20% HRA (after two years)

Upper age limit : 35 years for Men & 40 years for Women as on date of Interview (Upper Age limits are relaxable for SC, ST and OBC candidates as per Govt. of India norms (at present 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC)

Duration : Up to 31st March 2014 or till the completion of the project.

General Terms and conditions

1. The above positions are purely on temporary basis and is co-terminus with the project.

There is no provision of re-employment after termination of project. The selected candidates will not have any right for claiming pay scale or absorption against any regular post being vacant on a later date at this Institute.
2. Closing date of online applications will be on 30-05-2013 at 4-30 PM. Online applications will be screened and eligible candidates will be informed by post/e-mail to appear for a written test cum interview on a date to be intimated later.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Interview.
4. Candidates who secure the minimum marks prescribed by the Institute in written test only will be eligible for calling for the interview. The number of candidates to be called for the interview will be decided by the Director of the Institute.
5. The Director, IISR reserves the right to fix criteria and short-list the candidates for Test/Interview, after due screening of applications.
6. If needed, candidates may have to stay one more day for the interview.
7. The decision of Director, IISR would be final and binding in all aspects.
8. Canvassing in any form will lead to cancellation of candidate.

Note: All relevant certificates (in original) and bio data, No objection certificate in case he/she is employed elsewhere and Experience certificate in original (if any) need to be produced at the time of interview.
