Applications are invited for a temporary Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position & Temporary Project Assistant (PA) position to work in a Department of Biotechnology (DBT) funded Molecular Cancer Therapeutics research project entitled, “Establishment
of multi-target screening platform for a rapid hit-to-lead selection
process in targeted and combinatorial drug development”, to
work under the guidance of Dr.G.Kumaresan, Principal Investigator,
Cancer Genetics Laboratory, Dept. of Genetics, School of Biological
Sciences, Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU).
Essential Qualifications for JRF:
First class M.Sc., in any branch of life sciences with core hands-on
experience for a minimum of 6 months in Molecular Biology or Cell
Biology projects. Above stated experience during M.Sc., dissertation
also would be considered. Applicants with none of these experiences will
not be considered. Candidates having thirst for an ambitious research
career in Molecular Cancer Therapeutics / Cancer Genomics are encouraged
to apply. Registration for Ph.D. would be as per the regulations of
MKU.
Essential Qualifications & Experience for PA:
i) Pass in 12th Standard, ii) Minimum of 2 years working experience in
life-science research laboratories in cleaning cell-culture laboratory
and biohazardous waste disposal, and iii) Having the awareness of
bio-hazards, bio-safety and lab-safety procedures. Working experience in
animal house maintenance, handling experience of laboratory
mouse models, experience in using Microsoft word / Microsoft Excel, and experience in laboratory reagent stock maintenance are desirable.

Duration: Until the project period of January, 2016
Fellowship: JRF - As per DBT norms; Project Assistant – Rs. 8000 per Month (consolidated)
