A walk-in-interview will be held at CENTRAL INSTITUTE FOR SUBTROPICAL HORTICULTURE, at R. B. Road, Telibagh, Lucknow, an Institute under Indian Council of AgriculturalResearch (ICAR), for selection of Research Assistant/Senior Research Fellow/Research Associate as per details given below:

Research Assistant (One)

UPCST Project entitled, "Genetic Transformation of Guava for Wilt Resistance".

N.B. Only Indian Citizens who are resident of Uttar Pradesh are eligible.

Qualification & Experience:

Essential : Master's degree in Biotechnology/Life Sciences with minimum 60% marks or equivalent OGPA.

Desirable : Experience on genetic transformation and tissue culture will be preferred. NET cleared candidates will be given preference.

Senior Research Fellow (One)

ICAR Networking Project on "Transgenic in Crops” .

Essential : Master's degree in Biotechnology/Life Sciences with minimum 60% marks or equivalent OGPA.

Desirable : Experience on genetic transformation and tissue culture. NET cleared candidates will be given preference.

Senior Research Fellow (One)

ICAR Project on "Application of Micro-Organisms in Agriculture and Allied Sectors".

Essential : Master degree in Agriculture Microbiology/Agriculture Biochemistry/Ciotechnology with minimum 60% marks or equivalent OGPA.

Desirable : Working knowledge of fermentation technology, Protein Purification techniques, enzyme characterization. NET cleared candidates will be given preference.

Senior Research Fellow (One)

Name of the Project : 4. "Outreach project on Phytophthora, Fusarium and Ralstonia Diseases of Horticultural & Rield Crops".

Essential : Master's degree in Plant Pathology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences Botany with minimum 60% marks or equivalent OGPA.

Desirable : Working experience on subtropical fruit crop with special reference to fungal diseases. NET cleared candidates will be given preference.

Emoluments :

Research Assistant : Rs. 12000/- PM for first and second year & Rs. 14000/- PM for third year.

Senior Research Fellow : Rs. 12000/- PM for first and second year & Rs. 14000/- PM for third year + HRA.

Research Associate : Rs. 17000/- PM fixed + HRA.

HRA will be paid as per ICAR rules.

Date : 30-08-2010

Time : 10-30 a.m. onwards

Age Limit :

For Research Assistant : 25 years

For Senior Research Fellow : 35 years for male and 40 years for female candidates.

For Research Associate : 40 years for male and 45 years for female candidates

No T.A./D.A. will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.

Mode of selection : Written test – 50 marks, Academic Qualification – 10 marks, Experience & Publications - 10 marks, NET clearance as supported by valid certificate – 10 marks and Interview – 20 marks.
