UNIVERSITY OF CALCUTTA
Interested candidates are requested to appear in a walk-in interview on 10th April, 2014
at 03.00 P.M. in the room of the Head of the Department of
Biochemistry, Calcutta University, 35, Ballygunge Circular Road,
Kolkata-700019 to work as a Junior/Senior Research Fellow (JRF/SRF) in
the project entitled "Biochemical Study of The Relationship
Between Phosphatidylinositol Signaling In Root Cells of Leguminous
Plants With or Without Rhizobial Infection" funded by DST under the guidance of Dr. Anirhan Siddhanta of Dept of Biochemistry, C.U.
Tenure of the position is initially for one year and will be co-terminus with the project (29.05.20 15).
Qualification required: M.Sc Degree with a minimum of 55% marks in any branch of Life Science with valid NET-LS/GATE qualification.
Desirable:
For SRF two years research experience in the area of Plant biochemistry
and molecular biology; for JRF strong inclination to work in the area
of Plant biochemistry and molecular biology.
The
upper age limit for JRF shall be 28 years which is relaxed up to 5
years in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/Schedule
Tribes, Women, Physically Handicapped and OBC applicants.
Fellowship
and admissible allowances per month will be as per the sanction of the
funding agency and also as per norms of this University.
Candidates
are requested to bring two sets of complete applications furnishing
Bio-data on plain paper attached with attested copies of testimonials
and all the Originals of the testimonials at the time of interview. No
TA/DA will be provided.
