A walk-in interview will be held for
1) Office Assistant: One post in the NFBSFARA project on "Phenomics of moisture deficit and low temperature stress tolerance in rice" (Duration: Till DEC, 2015)
2) Junior Research Fellow (JRF): One post in the DBT BioCARE project on "Genetic
modification of cytokinin levels to enhance root system architecture
and source-sink relationship for improving drought tolerance of rice" (Duration: From Nov 2013 to Nov 2016; PI, Dr. Preeti Kaur; Mentor: Dr. Viswanathan Chinnusamy).
Candidates
interested in research with the qualifications given in the following
table may report for interview at 10:00 A.M. on 16-12-2013 (Monday) in
Committee Room, Division of Plant Physiology, IARI, Pusa campus, New
Delhi 110 012.
Office Assistant (One Post)
Rupees 15000/- (Consolidated)
Essential:
Post Graduate degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/
Plant Physiology/ Genetics/Plant Breeding/Botany with at least 60%
marks.
Job duties: Help the
Principal Investigator in day-to-day project coordination work,
Phenomics data entry, management of phenomics database, bioinformatics
analysis and research work as assigned by the PI
Junior Research Fellow (One Post)
Rs. 16000 + 30% HRA per month for the first two year of the project.
Rs. 18000 + 30% HRA per month after second year.
Essential: Post
Graduate degree with NET (Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Plant
Physiology/ Genetics/ Plant Breeding/Botany or relevant biological
Sciences)
OR
Professional courses in the biological sciences with GATE
Desirable: Experience in basic molecular biological techniques, gene cloning, Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation of plants.
Job duties:
To clone tissue specific and stress inducible promoters, development of
gene constructs for overexpression and RNAi/TALEN gene silencing,
Agrobacterium-mediated
genetic transformation, Physiological and molecular analysis of rice
transgenics, and any other project related work assigned by the
PI/Mentor
Candidate should report by 9:30 AM on 16-12-2013 for verification of Certificates (must bring original).
Candidate should bring five copies of their Bio-data, project work report/thesis, and original certificates/testimonials at the time of interview.
No objection Certificate from the current employer is required, if working.
Biodata should contain Academic qualifications starting from 10th Standard. It should also contain the details of experience and an abstract of research work carried out by the candidate.

Terms and Conditions:
1)
The above post is purely temporary and will be filled on contractual
basis for an initial period of one year, which may be extended on yearly
basis after satisfactory performance of the incumbent till termination
of the scheme. There is no provision of re-engagement after termination
of scheme. Selected candidate shall not claim for regular appointment at
this institute as the fellowship is co-terminus with respective scheme.
