JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (SCIENCE COMMUNICATION)
The Junior Research Fellow (Science Communication) will be responsible for supporting the collection, development and distribution of media & marketing communications materials, including website materials, inputs, annual reports, implementation of tactical and project plans, preparing & consolidated data for project proposals and reports from the Office of the Director as well as reporting project results to the Director.
Essential Qualifications
- A First Class Masters degree in Biotechnology or Life Sciences.
- Excellent fluency and writing skills in English, Hindi and Malayalam.
- roven expertise in the use of search engines, End Note, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.

Pay and allowances
The position will be on renewable contract, initially for one year. Further extension will be based on performance assessment. The position carries a monthly pay of `14,000/- + 20% HRA for the first year. No other allowances are admissible

Job Description
Junior Research Fellow (Science Communications) is responsible for supporting the Office of the Director in the development and distribution of materials on Grub's digital and media channels, specifically online multimedia communications, annual reports, project reports and for assisting the General Manger (Public Relations) with media relations activities.
Key functions include:
- Writing/External Materials Development: Research, prepare and distribute written and audio/video materials including annual reports, reports for funding agencies including the Department of Biotechnology or other relevant audiences that further the institution's external communications goals; consistently meet deadlines (multimedia content, web content, etc.).
- Digital/Social Media Program Support: Monitor the latest trends in digital/social/industry media. Identify opportunities and implement social media content distribution strategies.
- Develop Web content for external communications, publications, institutional blog and social media channels.
- Media Relations: Working with General Manager, research, develop and execute pitches to online and other publication reporters (broadcast, online/print, social media) to highlight and further the institutional mission; develop positive working relationships on behalf of RGCB and identify opportunities to introduce RGCB channels to the mainstream media. Assist in optimization of RGCB assets for Web audiences, including institutional newsroom assets, news release distribution and crisis communications.
- Tactical/project planning: Track and report on progress and results of communications plans; assist General Manager and Director in development of strategic plans for the RGCB digital and new media program.
