Interested eligible candidates are requested to appear before a selection committee on 1st December, 2010 at 11.00 a.m. in the Conference Room of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Calcutta (Ballygunge Campus), 35 Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata: 700019 for recruitment in the following positions in the DBT Centre of Excellence project entitled "Symbiotic interaction between a basal legume Arachis…………. to Root-nodule Symbiosis (Sanction no BT/01/CEIB/09/VI/10 dated 03.09.10)”. Tenure of the project is up to Five years.
1. Research Associate/ Senior Research Fellow / Junior Research Fellow - 1
2. Junior Research Fellow – 2
3. Project Assistant-1
2. Junior Research Fellow – 2

Qualification Required:
For JRF, M.Sc. Degree in any discipline in life sciences with valid GATE / NET / ICMR / DBT.
For RA/SRF at least two years experience in research work in addition to above qualification is needed.
For Project Assistant: Passed Higher Secondary in science stream from any recognized board/university.
For JRF and SRF/RA, upper age limit for joining is 28 years and 33 years respectively on 01/10/2010 with 5 years relaxation for SC / ST /Female candidates. Fellowship will be according to Office Memorandum no A20020/11/97-IFD dated 31st March, 2010 issued by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
For Project Assistant, the upper age limit is 30 years and the consolidated remuneration will be fixed at Rs. 8000 p.m.
Candidates are requested to bring two sets of complete applications furnishing Bio-data on plain paper attached with self-attested copy of testimonials and all the originals of the testimonials at the time of interview.
