Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow in DBT Funded Project entitled: “National Network Project of NIPER, Mohali (JNU Component) ”.  The selected candidate will be appointed purely on a temporary basis initially for one year that may be extended based on the performance.  

Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Master’s degree in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology and related subjects with strong academic record.  

Desirable: The project involves the creation of metabolic pathway models and molecular dynamics simulations. Experience in both areas will be used to shortlist applicants.  

Salary: As per the norms of the University and funding agency.  

Tenure: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The selected candidate will be appointed on a temporary basis for one year, followed by approval for extension till the end of the DBT project tenure (5 years maximum). The assessment will be based on satisfactory performance by the Principal Investigator.

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow in ANRF (SERB) Funded Project entitled: “Molecular mechanism of adaptation of dormant Tuberculosis (TB) in Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs): A perspective of neo-therapeutic strategy that shortens therapeutic length”.  The selected candidates will be appointed purely on temporary basis initially for one year that may be extended based on the performance.  

Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Master’s degree in Life Sciences//Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Zoology/ Animal Biology and related subjects with strong academic record.  

Desirable: The student with a biology background should have an experience in mammalian cell culture, bacterial culture, DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, Western Blotting, Spectroscopy, and Fluorescence Microscopy. 

Preference will be given to candidates, on a case-by-case basis, having first-hand experience in handling and culturing of virulent strains of M.tb.
