RA and Laboratory Assistant

Bose Institute, Kolkata, invites applications from Indian Citizens for the following temporary position in the DST(SERB) sponsored project entitled “Functional Analysis of the DNA polymerase lambda gene and the protein from Indica Rice Cultivars” under the guidance of Prof. D. N. Sengupta, Division of Plant Biology. The project is tenable upto 07th July, 2017. Details of qualification, associateship/remuneration, age etc. are as follows :-

A) Research Associate (Position-01) :

Essential Qualification : Ph.D. degree in subjects related to Botany / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology with experience in recombinant DNA work, identification of miRNA, protein purification and characterization by radiotracer technique, gel electrophoresis, Immunoprecipitation .

Associateship : Rs. 23,000/- p.m., plus admissible HRA.

Age : Below 35 Years (relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN candidates only as per rule).

B) Laboratory Assistant (Position-01) :

Essential Qualification : B.Sc or B.Tech degree from a recognized university with adequate  knowledge of working in lab for 1-3 years in Plant science.

Desirable Qualification: 1-2 years hands on experience on laboratory work with sufficient computer knowledge including Ms-Office, Photoshop, Excel.

Experience : Experience of Order placement, keeping records, lab work like preparation of buffers, reagents, gel staining, de-staining, drying and processing for autorad developments, microbiological medium, rice seeds maintenance to assist the research associates & research scholars, etc.

Remuneration : Rs. 8,000/- p.m. (fixed)
