JRF vacancy in DBT funded research project in Biotechnology Department, University of Calicut.
Applications are invited for a JRF position in a DBT (Govt. of India) sponsored Bio-CARe project entitled “Screening for antiproliferative and G2-abrogating activity in endemic species of Zingiberaceae family of plants using Physarum polycephalum and human normal & cancer cell lines ”.
Qualification & Experience: Candidates with M.Sc. in Biotechnology or in allied areas of Biological Sciences with not less than 60% marks may apply.
Applicants should have a keen interest in molecular cell biology / recombinant DNA technology.
Those with exposure in mammalian cell line work / cell cycle analysis / phytochemical analysis would be given preference.
Working knowledge of basic bioinformatics applications would be an added asset.
Age: Below 28 years.
Duration: 3 Years.
Fellowship: The Junior Research Fellowship amount per month would be Rs.14,400/- . On successful completion of two years, the JRF position would be upgraded to SRF (Rs.16,800/- per month) in the third year.
The selected candidate, on satisfactory performance, may be allowed Ph.D. registration subject to University regulations.
