Terms & Conditions of Offer of Engagement for the Project Assistant 1. It is not an offer of appointment in CDRI/CSIR, temporary or otherwise. It is a contract co-terminus with the Project. It would, therefore, not confer any right implicit or explicit for your consideration for regularization/absorption in any of the Labs. /Instts. Of CSIR or under any other scheme as applicable to identified casual workers against any of CSIR posts, even if engagement/contract or deployment/placement is for more than 240/206 days in a year.
2. Your engagement as Project Assistant is for the Project as mentioned above is for a period of One Year/termination of the project which as earlier from the date of joining and coterminus, with the present Project or till such time the job performed by you in the Project exist and your engagement is specifically extended by Director, whichever is earlier. Your tenure as Project Assistant shall not exceed five years in any circumstances. The total tenure of five years shall be calculated as per period you spent on one project and/or different project taken together in CDRI or any other Lab./Instt. of CSIR and Project Assistant or any other designation of equal status.
3. No traveling allowance will be admissible to you for reporting on duty.
4. No automatic shifting is allowed from one project to another project.
5. You will not be allowed to discontinue your engagement without seeking prior approval of the Director, CDRI. In case you wish to discontinue the engagement prior to completion of your tenure, you must submit one month’s prior notice indicating specific reasons for not continuing or deposit one month’s emoluments/stipend in lieu of the notice period. The engagement shall cease from the date stipulated by the Director while accepting the resignation.
You may discontinue from the Project work by depositing one month’s consolidated amount in lieu thereof without assigning any reason and will have no right against CSIR in any circumstances.
6. You will not divulge any information relating to the work of CDRI, which you may come to know during your engagement with CDRI to any party.
7. Your engagement will be subjected to the production of the following documents at your own expense at the time of your reporting of duty.
• Medical Certificate of health and physical fitness for service issued by the Resident Medical Officer/Lady Medical Officer of CSIR Dispensary or the Competent Authority where there is no CSIR Dispensary.
• Documentary evidence in support of your date of birth and qualifications.
• Attestation forms (duly completed), Character Certificate, countersigned by the District Magistrate/Sub-divisional Magistrate in the enclosed form.
8. The Director, CDRI whose decision shall be final and binding on both the parties to the contract, shall determine any matter not specifically stated therein.

Dr. Sreenivasulu Kurukuti laboratory is investigating the dynamics of 3-D genome organization and gene expression upon extra cellular signalling utilizing a combination of genetic, molecular and computational approaches in association with high throughput sequencing based chromatin structure analyzing methods. Successful candidate shall pursue project related to the computational analysis of
genome and epigenome data derived from mouse primary epithelial cell line model system.
Applicants should have M.Sc/Integrated M.Sc. in Biological/Physical/Mathematical/ Computer sciences with 2 years of experience or M.Tech/M.Pharm. Training in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, machine learning and algorithmic development is required. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C, C++, perl, python, Ruby etc.) and statistical framework (e.g. R, matlab, etc.) is preferable.
An understanding of molecular biology, genetics is desired. Candidates with JRF-fellowship through CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR will have an option to enroll into Ph.D. program. Good written and oral communication, excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a team is highly desired.

ICMR in collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh will hold a National level examination for the ward of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF), for Indian national candidates at Chandigarh, Chnnai, Delhi, Kolkatta Mumbai, Guwahati, Hyderabad and Varanasi on Sunday, July 22ND, 012.
A total of 150 Fellowships would be awarded; 120 fellowships awarded in Life Sciences stream like Microbiology, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Human Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Immunology, Pharmacology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Botany, Veterinary Sciences ), and 30 fellowships in Social Sciences stream (like sychology, Sociology, Home Science, Statistics, Anthropology, Social work and Health Economics).
Application form duly completed must reach in the office of the Registrar, PGIMER,  Chandigarh-160012 by registered/Speed post on or before 7.5.2012. Candidates from remote areas /regions may submit their application forms duly completed latest by 14.5.2012.
ELIGIBILITY for ICMR JRF 2012
Educational: M.Sc/M.A or equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks for General/OBC  Candidates and 50% for the SC/ST & physically handicapped (PH) candidates in the subjects mentioned above. Candidates appearing in the final year examination (2011-2012) can also  apply.
Age Limit: The upper age limit for admission to the eligibility test is 28 years as on 30-09-2012  (relaxable up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH/ female candidates and 3 years in the case of OBC.
HOW TO APPLY for ICMR JRF 2012
Information bulletin containing the details along with application form & Challan form will be available at PGIMER Website www.pgimer.nic.in  and ICMR New Delhi website http://icmr.nic.in only. After downloading application form and challan form, the candidate should take out challan form (in triplicate) and deposit the application fee in any branch of State Bank of India and send the application form duly filled along with copy of challan and two window envelopes (without self-address) affixing Rs. 10/- postal stamp on them directly to Registrar, PGIMER, Chandigarh on or before 7.5.2012.
AMOUNT OF APPLICATION FEE & MODE OF PAYMENT: The candidates can visit any branch of State Bank of India with the challan form (in triplicate) duly filled for payment of prescribed fee in the “Power Jyoti” PUL current account of ICMR. The Account No. of ICMR for admission is 32211616762. After depositing the fee with the branch of State Bank of India, the
candidate shall send PGI’s copy of challan form along with the application and will retain candidate’s copy of challan with him/her for future use. The challan form is required to be filled in the name of Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh (Examinations) in the Power Jyoti Account No. 32211616762. Those candidates who have SBI account can also pay their fee through “I-collect” service of State Bank of India. In that case the INB reference No. will be generated and the same will have to be mentioned instead of Challan/Journal Number as reflected in the application form.
