Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow for a DBT funded project on ‘Development of rice varieties for Kerala with pyramided genes for resistance to BLB by marker assisted selection’ in the laboratory of Dr. George Thomas at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Botany/Agricultural Sciences/Biotechnology with first class academic record since 10th class.
AGE: Below 35 years as on 24th January, 2014
EMOLUMENTS:
12,000/- + 20% HRA in the I and II year; 14,000/- + 20% HRA for III-V years.
Or 18,000/- + 20% HRA in the I and II years; 20,000/- + 20% HRA for III - V years for CSIR/UGC - JRF (or equivalent) qualified candidates.
DURATION
Five years or till termination of the project (whichever is earlier). However, the selected candidate will be assessed yearly by a review committee and poor performance can lead to discontinuation of the appointment.
Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview.
