Applications are invited for purely project based temporary positions of Junior Research Fellows (02 Nos) and Field Assistant (01 No) in the following externally funded projects. Candidates having appropriate qualification in relevant Subject/Specialization with good academic records and experience may apply.

Project No-1- “Preventing extinction and improving conservation status of threatened plants through application of biotechnological tools” DBT funded project , PI- Dr. S.K. Nandi

1. Junior Research/ Project Fellow (01 No.)

Initially for one year, likely to extended based on performance of the candidate

@ Rs. 12,000/- (Fixed per Month) + HRA as per Institute norms; OR @Rs 16,000/- for NET qualified persons (as per norms)

• Masters degree with at least 55% marks in Plant Physiology/Biochemist ry/Biotechnology or in Botany with any of the above specialization

• Preference will be given to candidates having experience of working in Himalayan
region.

Preference will be given to candidates having knowledge in instrumentation and experience of working in the Himalayan region

• To conduct survey and establish nursery in high altitude areas.

• Plant propagation (by tissue culture & conventional methods) & field establishment of medicinal plants.

• Phytochemical analysis & Molecular Characterization.

Project No- 2- “Ecophysiological and microbial studies in relation to climate change along an environmental gradient in Himalayan systems” DST funded project , PI- Dr. S.K. Nandi

2. Junior Research/ Project Fellow (01 No.)

Initially for one year, likely to extended based on performance of the candidate

@ Rs. 12,000/- (Fixed per Month) + HRA as per Institute norms; OR @Rs 16,000/- for NET qualified persons (as per norms)

Himalayan region Determination of various physiological and biochemical parameters in plants.

To establish field experimental sites and grow target specie in different altitudes.

Project No- 3- “Creation a Genomics platform for Apple research in India” DBT funded project , PI- Dr. I.D. Bhatt

3. Field Assistant (01 No)

(7000/- fixed)

Intermediate or Bachelor degree with 2 years field experience

Experience of working in difficult mountain conditions

Assistance to JRF in the field work

Age Limit: For JRF 28 years and for Field Assistant 35 years. Relaxation for SC/ST/Women/PH and OBC as per Govt. norms
