NOTIFICATION FOR JUNIOR RESEARH FELLOW POSITION
Applications are invited in the prescribed format for two Junior Research Fellow positions in the DST sponsored major research project entitled “Genetic diversity and origin of Indian domestic ducks ”.
Position: Junior Research Fellow (2)
Duration: Initially for one year and extendable up to 3 years based on the candidates performance
Fellowship: First & second year Rs. 13,200; third year Rs.15,400
Essential Qualification: First Class Master degree in any subject under Life Science (Genomic Science/Genetics/Biotechnology/Animal Science/Zoology / Environmental Biotechnology/ Environmental Sciences/Environmental Management/Wild life Science/Wild life Biology)
Desirable Qualifications:
i. Research experience in the field of wildlife survey.
ii. Strong physical and mental abilities and a keen desire to carryout field work.
iii. Fluency in Hindi.
iv. Experience in PCR, DNA sequencing, computer applications etc.,
Description of the Work: The job requirements are to collect duck samples through out India (mainly the coastal regions of Southern and Eastern India and the Western Ghats region) and to undertake DNA extraction, PCR amplification and DNA sequencing for genotyping work.
