Interview for ‘Project-JRF’ Position 

Title of Project: Identification of lead molecules for development of novel therapeutic strategies against viruses. 

Age Limit: 35 Years. 

Duration: Initially for one year and may be extended further after review. 

Essential Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics or equivalent with minimum 60% marks. The candidate should have qualified the NET/GATE or any other National-level examination conducted by central government departments and their agencies & institutions. 

Practical knowledge of recombinant DNA technology, protein purification, macromolecular crystallography and computational drug discovery is required. The candidate should have knowledge and research experience in enzymes that act on nucleic acids. 

Desirable Qualifications: The candidate should have experience of working on viral proteins.

Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- + 24% HRA.

Experience / Software / Skillset & Desirable Qualification:

Prior experience in Microbiology/ Biofilm biology/ Bioremediation/ Bacterial cell biology/ Molecular biology/ molecular and biophysical techniques (PCR, RT-PCR, Western Blotting, Immunofluorescence, Electrophoresis, Gene cloning, Mutant development, spectroscopy etc.) will be preferred.

Essential qualifications: Post Graduate Degree (M. Sc.) in Plant Biochemistry/ Plant Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ from a recognized institution with 4/5 years of Bachelor's degree. Candidates having 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree should have NET qualification**. 

Desirable: Experience in gene cloning and characterization, Heterologous expression of gene, basic biochemical techniques/ handling of instruments used in metabolomics, etc.
