CDFD,
an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of
Science and Technology, invites applications from Indian nationals for
the following purely temporary vacancies in research projects funded by
National / International agencies at CDFD like DST/DBT/ICMR/CSIR etc.
The description of the positions and minimum qualifications for various
vacancies are as follows:
- Research Associate:
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Emoluments: ₹ 36,000/- to ₹ 54,000/- per month + HRA
Essential Qualifications:- Ph.D. in Biophysics / Chemistry / Life Science / Biotechnology / Genetics / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Bioinformatics from recognized University / Institute or MD / MS / MDS.
- M.V.Sc./ M.Pharm./ M.E. / M.Tech. having three years of research, teaching and design and development experience with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
OR - Project-Senior Research Fellow:
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Emoluments: ₹ 28,000/- to ₹ 35,000/- per month + HRA
Essential Qualifications:- Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course with two years of research experience.
- Qualified National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
- Qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
OR - Project-Junior Research Fellow:
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Emoluments: ₹ 25,000/- to ₹ 31,000/- per month + HRA
Essential Qualifications:- Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course.
- M.Sc. or equivalent course in Biophysics / Chemistry / Life Science / Biotechnology / Genetics / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Bioinformatics.
- Experience in research as demonstrated by the successful completion of a research project in a reputed Institute / Centre.
- Qualified National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
- Qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
OR - Project Associate - I:
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Emoluments: ₹ 25,000/- to ₹ 31,000/- per month + HRA
Essential Qualifications- Master's
Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / M.V.Sc. or bachelor's
degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized
University or equivalent.
- Qualified National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
- Qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
OR - Master's
Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / M.V.Sc. or bachelor's
degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized
University or equivalent.
- Project Associate - II:
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Consolidated Emoluments: ₹ 28,000/- to ₹ 35,000/- per month + HRA
Essential Qualifications:- Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / M.V.Sc. or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent;
- 2 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services.
and - Qualified National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
- Qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
OR - Senior Project Associate:
Upper Age Limit: 40 years
Emoluments: ₹ 42,000/- per month + HRA
Essential Qualifications:- Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / M.V.Sc. or bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent;
- Four years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services.
- Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Pharma or MD / MS from a recognized University or equivalent.
and OR - Principal Project Associate:
Upper Age Limit: 40 years
Emoluments: ₹ 49,000/- per month + HRA
Essential Qualifications:- Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Bacherlor;s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent;
- Eight years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services.
- Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Pharma or MD / MS from a recognized University or equivalent;
- Four years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
and OR and - Project Scientist (Number of positions: 1):
Upper Age Limit: 45 years
Consolidated Emoluments: ₹ 60,000/- per month
Essential Qualifications:- PhD in Life Science subjects
- Minimum 1 year of Post-PhD experience in Molecular Biology
- Experience in Real Time PCR, Molecular biology and Biosafety level 2 laboratory work.
- Oversee activities of testing in Covid 19 testing laboratory
- Reporting of results to patients as well as health authorities
- Inventory management
- Laboratory Technician (Number of positions: 10):
Upper Age Limit: 45 years
Consolidated Emoluments: ₹ 21,000/- per month
Essential Qualifications:- BSc (any branch of Life Science) OR
- DMLT with one year experience in diagnostic laboratory work OR
- MLT with one year experience in diagnostic laboratory work
- Experience in Molecular biology / PCR / Cell culture / Diagnostics
- Conduct Covid testing activity like media aliquoting, RNA extraction, RT-PCR
- Night duties may need to be done
- Data Entry Operator (Number of positions: 2):
Upper Age Limit: 45 years
Consolidated Emoluments:₹ 15,000/- per month
Essential Qualifications- BCA/B.Sc. /B.Tech
- One year experience as Data entry operator
- Good knowledge of MS Excel
- Data entry for samples
- Night duties may need to be done
- Preparation of daily
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The general terms and conditions governing the Advertisement No. CDFD/EMPC/4/Sep' 20 are as follows:
- The vacancies against the positions at S. Nos. 1 to 7 shall be filled based on the vacancies available at the time of selection. If more vacancies with identical job requirements become available within one year after the selection, these can also be filled from among the candidates who are empanelled for the above positions.
- Candidates are encouraged to apply for multiple positions. Depending on the qualifications, experience and recommendations of the Selection Committee, the candidates may be selected for more than one position.
- Depending on the qualifications, experience and recommendations of the Selection Committee, the selected candidates may be placed in a scale and designation lower than the grade advertised/applied against.
- Candidates selected against the positions at S. Nos. 1 to 7 will be expected to carry out research in the areas of Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Computational and Structural Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology or Molecular Biology.
- Emoluments of the candidates selected against the positions at S. Nos. 1 to 7 may vary depending upon the qualifications, experience, recommendations of the Selection Committee or emoluments sanctioned by the funding agency in the project.
- Selection against the positions at S. Nos. 1 to 7 will not make the candidates with Master’s Degree, eligible to register for the Ph.D. degree.
- All these positions are purely temporary and are initially for a period of six months or one year. These positions could be extended/terminated depending on the continuation of the project(s).
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/Ex-service person/ EWS applicants will be as per Govt. of India rules.
- Relaxation of age for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/Ex-service person/ Women applicants will be as per Govt. of India rules.
- Mere fulfilling the minimum qualifications will not entitle the candidate for being called for interview. The applications will be screened by a Committee and candidates found suitable will be shortlisted and interviewed through Video Conference. The decision of the Director, CDFD will be final in this respect and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
- Any of the selected individuals may from time to time be assigned to perform any other duties commensurate with their qualifications, by the Director, CDFD.
- The Director, CDFD reserves the right to suitably change/relax any of the above conditions. He also reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
