Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a BRNS funded research project entitled "Mechanism of STAT5B in pancreatic beta cell proliferation/sustenance and its significance in diabetes” in the laboratory of Dr. Malini Laloraya at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS : Candidates must have a Masters Degree in any area of Biological Sciences with at least 60% marks. Qualification in NET/GATE/ICMR/DBT examination will be desirable.
AGE : Below 28 years as on 28th February, 2015
EMOLUMENTS: Rs.16,000 + HRA/MA as per host institute rules.
DURATION : Three years or till termination of the project (whichever is earlier)
Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed. No TA/ DA will be given for appearing in the interview.

A walk in interview will be held at the office of the undersigned on 27th February, 2015 (Friday) between 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow in the Project entitled "Studies on Anti-thyroidal Biomolecules in Bamboo-shoots of North East and Evaluation of their Molecular and Physiological Actions in Thyroid Disruption" [Sanction No. BT/471/NE/TBP/2013 dated 26th December, 2014 funded by Department of Biotechnology (DBT) (Govt. of India) under the Supervision of Prof. Amar K Chandra (Principal Investigator) and Dr. Sreya Chattopadhyay, Department of Physiology, University of Calcutta and Prof. Rina Ghosh, Department of Chemistry, Jadavpur University.
Tenure of the Project is about three years at present.
Qualification required: M.Sc. in Human Physiology preferably with Endocrinology & Reproductive Physiology
Specialization having at least 55% marks and passed NET /CSIR /UGC/ GATE / RET / Professional course qualified (desirable).
Remuneration: Rs. 16, 000/- + HRA for NET/GATE/BET/B1NC/S LET per month for the 1st and 2nd year and @ Rs.18, 000/- + HRA for the year, otherwise it shall be Rs. 12, 000/- + HRA for the 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 14,000/- + HRA for the 3rd year.

Duration: The project is valid for a period of One and Half years.
The selected candidate will be appointed on purely temporary basis initially for a period of one year but likely to be extended depending on the performance, requirement and project validity, whichever is earliest.
