Invitation of Application for post of Senior Research Fellow
(WALK IN INTERVIEW)
A walk in interview for filling up two purely temporary position of Senior Research Fellows, one post for DST funded project entitled “Characterization and identification of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris races causing black rot disease of crucifer crops” and one post for ICAR outreach project on Phytophthora, Fusarium and Ralstonia diseases of Horticultural and field crops (Phytofura) in the Division of Plant Pathology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi- 110012 on 15th May 2012 at 10.00 AM.
For DST project:
Essential qualification: M. Sc. in Biotechnology/ Plant Pathology/ Life Sciences/Molecular biology, NET/GATE Qualified with 2 years experience in research.
Desirable qualification: Research experience in plant bacteriology/ molecular biology.
Pay scale: Rs. 18000 + HRA
For ICAR Phytofura project:
Essential qualification: M. Sc. in Biotechnology/ Plant Pathology/ Life Sciences/Molecular biology. Desirable qualification: Research experience in plant bacteriology/ molecular biology.
Pay scale: Rs. 16000 + HRA
Age limit: 35 years

Eligibility Criteria:
PhD Programme in Science:
(i) Masters degree in Chemical/Physical/Biological and related sciences/technology
AND
(ii) A valid research fellowship offer from UGC/CSIR/DBT/ICMR/BINC/DST-INSPIRE or any other research fellowship programme.
Candidates who have qualified only the CSIR/UGC lectureship (LS) category or GATE are not eligible.
PhD Programme in Engineering:
For applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering/Technology/related discipline:
(i) Minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA or equivalent at the Bachelors degree level (50%  marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PH candidates)
(ii) A valid GATE score above the qualifying score for that subject OR A valid research fellowship offer from CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/BINC/DST-INSPIRE or any other research fellowship programme
(iii) Age on August 15, 2012 should be less than 28 yrs (relaxable upto 5 years in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes, women, physically handicapped and OBC applicants).
For applicants with a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering/Technology/related discipline:
(i) Minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA or equivalent at the Master’s degree level (50%  marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PH candidates). A Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology is desirable.

Selection Procedure: Admission is through an initial screening based on minimum eligibility criteria followed by further screening test and/or personal interview.

Position for Senior Research Fellow & Lab Assistant (DBT sponsored project)

The position is for Senior Research Fellow (No of post = 1) and Lab Assistant (No of post = 1).

Project name and agency: Department of Biotechnology sponsored project titled “Development of a Unique Animal Model to Understand the Etiology of Human Central Nervous System Autoimmune Disease Multiple Sclerosis
1) Post for Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Minimum Eligibility: M.Sc. in any branch of life sciences or Bio-chemistry with minimum research experience of 4 years (in total), with two years of experience (JRF) in the field of neurobiology only, will be considered for the post.
Desirable:
 Candidates with experience in handling animal (mice) trained in histopathology, proficient in cell culture techniques, molecular biology, virology and microscopy would be preferred at the most.

Salary: As per DBT norms.
2) Post for Lab Assistant
Minimum Eligibility: BSc in any branch of life sciences with proficient knowledge in various histopathology and animal handling techniques along with basic knowledge of common instruments like PCR, FACS, Spectrophotometer and others, used in biology lab.
Desirable:
 MSc (Life Sciences)
 3 to 4 month experience in the above mentioned techniques.
Salary: Negotiable (Base on experience)
