Eligible candidates are invited to attend a WALK-IN-INTERVIEW at this Institute On 03.03.2011 at 09.30 A.M. onwards for filling up of Eight Junior Research Fellowships at this Institute.

I. JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPs – 8 Nos.

Essential qualification : - 1st class M.Sc., in Biochemistry / Nutrition / Biotechnology / Genetics/Zoology/Environmental Sciences and they must have qualified in the ICMR/CSIR/UGC/DST/DBT-NET qualified / GATE qualified JRF-Fellowship exams with fellowship.


Areas: - Flurosis, Foetal and maternal nutrition, Iron Metabolism, Food Analysis, Stem Cells, Obesity and diabetes, Environmental Toxicology.

The candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualifications, ICMR/ CSIR/UGC/DST/DBT-NET /GATE JRF-Fellowship qualified award letter and caste along with a set of photocopies of the same and a latest passport size photo, while attending the Walk-in-Interview. No TA/DA will be paid for this Purpose.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

NIPGR "Short-Term Research Fellowships" scheme under the guidance of Dr. Manaoj Prasad, Scientist, NIPGR.

(A) Junior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per project sanction.

Candidate having M. Sc. degree (with minimum 60% and preferably one year of post- M.Sc research experience on related subject in an R&D lab.) in any discipline of Life Sciences. Expertise in molecular marker techniques along with basic knowledge of molecular biology background will be preferred.

(B) Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms.

Candidates having M. Sc. degree (with minimum 60%) in any subject area of life sciences with two years of Post M. Sc. Research experience. Experience of working with plant virus, molecular biology and genomics with international publications is highly desirable.

The position is completely on temporary basis with maximum duration of three years.

The initial appointment will be for one year for SRF and upto November 2011 for JRF, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR may select candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate and reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
