WALK-IN-INTERVIEW
Eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in-interview on 25.06.2010 (Friday) between 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. for the temporary posts of Research Associate/Senior Research Fellow / Tech.Assistant / Highly Skilled Technical Person & Project Assistant to work under the research projects sanctioned to Directorate of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
1. NAIP project on “Research into Development of Decision Support Systems for insect Pests of major Rice and Cotton based Cropping system”.
RA - (1 post)
Essential Qualifications: MSc (Zoology) / MSc (Ag) in Entomology
Desirable Qualifications:
(i) PhD in Entomology/Zoology, (ii) Experience in working in the fields of rice entomology and forecasting of pests and diseases in rice.
Duration: 1 year;
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.18,000/- p.m. plus HRA for Doctoral and Rs.17,000/-p.m. plus HRA for Masters.
2. ICAR network project on “Transgenic in Crop” (Functional Genomics Component Iron and Zinc in Rice);

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D./M.Sc Plant Science
Desirable Qualifications:
PhD or 3 years experience with working with molecular markers, grain quality (micro nutrients) analysis, QTL analysis as evident from publications.
Duration: Two years
Emoluments: Rs.18,000/-p.m. +HRA
3. DBT project on “Characterization and use of EMS induced mutants of Rice variety Nagina 22 for yield, drought tolerance and phosphorus use efficiency”

Desirable Qualifications: One year experience of working with mutants/field work/crop physiology/mutants

4. DBT project on “Identification of molecular markers linked to Quality parameters in rice, their validation and utilization in Marker Aided selection”

Essential Qualifications:
M.Sc (Ag) or M.Sc. in Pl. Breeding/Genetics/Biotechnology from any recognized university
Desirable Qualifications:
Work experience in rice breeding and sound knowledge of molecular markers analysis as evidenced by publications and/or reference letters; with good knowledge in writing and communication skills, sound knowledge in computer and internet applications
Duration: till March, 2011
Emoluments: Rs.14,000/-p.m. + HRA
5. DUS Tests in Rice:

Essential Qualifications:
Master of Science (M.Sc.- Ag) in Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Genetics and Plant Breeding (or) Plant genetic Resources or M.Sc in Botany or Genetics from any of the recognized universities in India
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Experience in conducting the field experiments of Agricultural Crops preferably cereals and Characterization and documentation of Germplasm.
2. Experience in data base maintenance and sound knowledge of Computer applications.
Duration: 1 year and likely to get extended
Emoluments: Rs.12,000/-p.m for 1st & 2nd year and Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA for 3rd year onwards.
6. ICAR Network Project for Transgenic in Crops (Transgenic Component):

Essential Qualifications:
M.Sc degree in Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Plant Breeding & Genetics/Botany
Desirable Qualifications:
2-3 years research experience in genetic engineering of plants with specialization in rice tissue culture, genetic transformation and molecular biology techniques desirable. Experience in insect bioassay of transgenic rice/crop is also desirable
Duration: 2 years
Emoluments Rs.12,000/-p.m. for 1st & 2nd year and Rs.14,000/-p.m. plus HRA for 3rd year onwards.
7. DBT project on “Promoter mining for identification of novel regulatory elements of candidate genes in rice for biotic stresses”.

Essential Qualifications:
M.Sc (Agriculture-Biotechnology) or M.Sc in any subjects in Life sciences
Desirable Qualifications:
Basic Bioinformatics knowledge is desirable
Duration: 4 months
Emoluments: Rs.12,000/-p.m plus HRA.
8. DBT project on “Improving the livelihood of SC/ST farmers through rice technology interventions”

Desirable Qualifications:
Work experience in rural areas / field related work

9. DBTs GCP project on “Development of Biotic Stress Resistant Rice through marker assisted breeding”.

Essential Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Agriculture/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Biotechnology
Desirable Qualifications:
One year experience in field/laboratory work.
Duration: 1 year
Emoluments: Rs.8,000/-p.m. (consolidated).
10. ICAR “Seed Production in Agricultural Field crops and Fisheries”
Highly Skilled Tech Persons - (2 posts)
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Botany-Genetics/Zoology, Chemistry or Dip. in agriculture from any of the recognized universities in India.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Experience in seed production of agricultural crops or assisting in conducting the field experiments/Labour management in farms.
2.Experience in data base maintenance and knowledge of Computer applications
Duration: 1 year and likely to get extended
Emoluments: Rs.8,000/-p.m.(fixed)
Age: Below 35 years for men and 40 years for women for Technical Assistant, Project Assistant-II, Highly Skilled Technical Person & SRF and below 40 years for men and 45 years for women for RA as on 1.6.2010 (age relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates)
No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for attending the interview.
