Age Limit: 35 years max. (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and women candidates as per ICAR rules)
The post is purely temporary in nature and is co-terminus with the project. The initial offer is for a period of one year only. The interview will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 10.00 A.M. at NRCPB, Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre, IARI, New Delhi – 110012.

General Instructions:

3. The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the completion of the Projects and non- transferable to any other Projects.

One position: JRF / SRF

Qualifications.

  • For JRF: M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences or related fields with at least one year research experience.

  • For SRF: M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences or related fields with two years research experience.
*Only one position is available that will be offered either JRF or SRF. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the DST-PURSE Programme. The initial appointment will be for one year which can be extended on the basis of the performance of the candidate.

One position: Research Associate (RA)
Project : “Molecular Identification and Characterization of virulence factors of tomato leaf curl virus”.
Duration: The Project will continue till December, 2013. The above mentioned position is completely temporary and is co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, but can be curtailed or extended based on the performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. Appointed person will be expected to stay in the lab for the entire period of the project.

Salary : - As per DST rules and guidelines for RA.

Qualifications : - Eligible candidates should have a Ph.D. degree (candidates who have submitted Ph.D. thesis may also apply). Candidates having experience in research works related to Molecular Virology / Plant Molecular Biology / Biochemistry will be preferred.

The competent authority may select candidate in the lower position against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate and reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee.
