Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the DST SERB funded research project entitled "Studies of Non - Enzymatic Paper-based Bioanalytical Devices for Point-of-Care Diagnostic Applications" in the laboratory of Dr. Lightson N G at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- The candidate should have consistent academic record with a first class Master's Degree in Life Sciences/ Medical Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Materials Science.
- Candidate should have qualified National Eligibility Test - CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/ or National Level Examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions viz., DBT-Biotechnology Eligibility Test/ Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JBEEBILS)/ ICMR Entrance Exam/Approved DST Inspire Fellowship etc.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate with a minimum of one year laboratory experience and good knowledge in handling chemical biology laboratory tools.
- Candidate with prior experience in biosensors and bioanalytical device is desirable.
AGE
Below 28 years as of June 20, 2022. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.
EMOLUMENT
₹ 31,000/- + 16% HRA per month
DURATION
Initially for a period of six months and extendable up to three years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.
SELECTION PROCESS

Job description:

Essential Qualification:
Masters in Biotechnology or any allied subject in Life Sciences with
minimum of 60% marks or 7.0 CGPA. Applicants having a valid GATE/NET
score will be given preference.
Desirable qualifications: Knowledge
of basic laboratory techniques and aseptic techniques, Prior knowledge
of chromatographic and basic animal cell culture techniques, Good
oral/written communication skills in English, Knowledge of MS office.
Duration of the Project: The
fellowship will be offered initially for a period of one year, which
can be extended further two more year depending on the performance of
the candidate
